Consumer recognition prompted the idea of establishing a global competition open to all producer regions in both hemispheres.

The competition is designed to:

  • Promote quality Marselan wines,

  • Introduce the public to the extensive range of wines made from this varietal.

The Marselan grape variety enjoys international exposure, recognition and acclaim among trade members and consumers alike.

VITICULTURE

A low-cropping, mid-ripening grape variety, Marselan thrives in cool climates but its acidity also makes it appealing to producers in warm climate regions. It has the ability to encapsulate sense of place, vintage and climate effect. Its vigour needs to be reined in using the appropriate techniques.
