At 9:00 am Beijing time on August 6, the Fourth China (Ningxia) International Wine Competition & The Second (Ningxia) Marselan Selection by CMB was officially held in Ningxia Helan Mountain east foot wine Museum.

As one of the three most prestigious international wine competitions in the world, CMB has a significant influence on the global wine industry and is often referred to as the ‘Oscars of Wine.’ This year, the Marselan Selection by CMB is once again being held in Ningxia. In evaluating the exceptional international Marselan wine samples, CMB remains committed to its mission of promoting the development of the Marselan wine variety in China and supporting the steady progress of the Chinese wine industry.

44 international judges from 11 countries tasted 1,222 wine samples from 33 wine regions in 18 countries, including China, France, Portugal and Italy. The competition finally decided the Grand Gold, Gold and Silver awards. Under the CMB’s strict scoring system, only 26.5% of the entries in this competition can win MEDALS, including the probability of the Grand Gold award is 1.5%, which is one of the most competitive.

The seriousness and professionalism of the judges determine the prestige of the competition and the value of its medals. The panel of 44 international judges from 11 countries includes Masters of Wine, experts and scholars, winemakers, sommeliers, wine columnists, wine promoters, and wine managers—leading professionals in the industry. This distinguished group will witness and evaluate the Marselan variety in depth over the next few days of the competition

This competition adopts the online scoring system exclusively developed by CMB. Through the judges’ scoring and comments, artificial intelligence is used to form expert tasting comments, wine aroma analysis plates and wine body structure analysis tables for all the participating wines. The innovative digital selection technology is added to comprehensively display the judges’ sensory evaluation of the wine body in multiple dimensions.

At the same time, the competition will also evaluate each judge according to the on-site scores of the judges. At the end of The Second ( Ningxia ) Marselan Selection by CMB each sample will receive a tasting feedback report, and each judge will also receive a evaluation form. This competition will certainly be a wine culture feast, so that the world’s eyes focus on Ningxia, intoxicating wine fragrance permeates the eastern foot of Helan Mountain.
